In Praise of Cheeseburgers

Hello people…Skarsgard here.

Here’s the thing. I have a pretty serious crush on the cheeseburger. In fact, here at YOU CAN FOOD we are all pretty crazy about cheeseburgers. None of us can deny the hold cheeseburgers have over us; we even have weekly cheeseburger dinners where we do nothing but revel in God’s gift to the food world.

The best thing? They are probably one of the most versatile foods EVER. Oh cheeseburgers, let me count the ways I love you! With avocadoes! With BBQ sauce! With onion rings! Beef burgers! Turkey burgers! Lamb burgers! Veggie burgers! Mushroom burgers! BURGERS.

Just thinking about all the endless delicious burger combinations out there in the world makes me worried that I will never have time in my life to taste every possible kind of cheeseburger. Should I just eat nothing but cheeseburgers ‘til the end of my days? It may be my only choice.

Us girls here at YOU CAN FOOD have a couple favorite burger joints that we would like to tell you about. They are: Burger Up in Nashville, Tennessee & Urban Stack in Chattanooga, Tennessee. All three of us try to frequent these places and we are very excited to share them with you soon.

Tikki is a fifth year senior from the hills of East Tennessee, who enjoys gnomes of all shapes and sizes, argyle socks, Dolly Parton, and reading Judy Blume aloud. When she grows up (ever?), she hopes to be just like her idol, Liz Lemon, who shares the same awkward social skills as she. A defining factor in Tikki's life is her fake dead ex-boyfriend's ghost, Ricky, who likes to break into her apartment and move her things around. When it comes to food, Tikki's passions include cheese, apples, dark beer, and pies, among many other things. Also, she still has braces on her bottom teeth; 12 years, still going strong.

Skarsgard - standing at 5 feet 2 inches, weighing less than 300 pounds - always eats enough for ten people. She is a senior from around-Nashville, Tennessee, who loves gingers (think Ron Weasley, not Carrot Top), Flannery O'Connor, performing strange dances in oversized shorts, and Jersey Shore. Skarsgard wants to help people when she grows up, following in the footsteps of Mother Teresa, Jay-Z, or Princess Diana. Skarsgard's defining feature is her face, which "can move in all directions at once" (direct quote from Skarsgard herself). Her food passions are  cheeseburgers, not-just-any beer, fried pickles, and avocados. She makes her living by fattening people up with delicious donuts.

Hellkat is an aspiring hand model and junior from Nashville, Tennessee. She enjoys glitter, Curious George, Proenza Schouler, and Rebecca Black's smash hit single "Friday". When Hellkat grows up she wants to be just like Katie Couric, Kim Jong Il, or the cast of Glee. Actually, Hellkat would like to live a life full of coffee shops and muffins, sans grown-up responsibility. Hellkat is defined by her deep hatred of both water parks and flip-flops. The foods Hellkat is most passionate about include fruit, Fritos Brand Honey BBQ flavored Flavor Twists, coffee, and feta cheese. In her spare time, Hellkat loves to "theme" things like parties, outfits, and entire days.
